PASIR GUDANG: Pasir Gudang member of parliament Hassan Karim says he will accept any action taken against him by PKR, including suspension, over his criticisms of the government.
Hassan has been critical of the unity government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the PKR president.
"I was called for a hearing with the party's disciplinary board on Thursday, but there's no decision yet," he told a press conference.
"They (the disciplinary board) will give a recommendation and refer it to the PKR political bureau before bringing the matter to the central leadership council," he said.
The council is chaired by Anwar.
"A decision is expected tomorrow," he said.
Hassan said that regardless of the party's decision, he would not file an appeal, as he is satisfied with the professionalism of PKR's disciplinary board.
Earlier, Hassan engaged with traders in front of Sekolah Agama Taman Scientex to discuss issues they faced.
It was previously reported that Hassan had been referred to PKR's disciplinary board following complaints from the party's central leadership council over public statements.
Several media outlets reported that Hassan was summoned by the party's disciplinary board over his public criticisms of the government, including the decision to award the rollout of the second 5G network to U Mobile.
Last month, PKR secretary-general Fuziah Salleh urged Hassan to raise his concerns through internal party channels instead of making public statements.
Earlier this year, Hassan said he was unperturbed by the possibility of being sacked or facing disciplinary action from PKR.
The 73-year-old politician added that he would not remain silent when he believed something was wrong.
