KOTA BARU: Kelantan Bersatu plans to continue using Pas logo for its candidate who will be contesting in Nenggiri by-election.
State Bersatu chief Datuk Kamaruddin Md Nor said this, however, depends on the final decision to be made by Perikatan Nasional (PN) top leadership.
"During the 15th General Election, all eight Bersatu candidates contesting in the state used Pas logo.
"We are planning to adopt the same approach for the Nenggiri by-election unless the PN top leadership decides otherwise," he said.
Yesterday, PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced that Bersatu would be contesting the Nenggiri state seat, which has been fixed for polling on Aug 17.
The seat, he said, belonged to Bersatu and that the party's election machinery had been mobilised.
Muhyiddin, who is also the Bersatu president, said that PN would select the most suitable candidate from Bersatu.
Election Commission chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun also announced that the nomination for the by-election would take place on Aug 3, with early voting set for Aug 13.
