POKOK SENA: A heartwarming video of a policeman rescuing a cat from waist-high floodwaters has gone viral, capturing the admiration of netizens.
The footage, posted on the official police force Facebook account, shows Lance Corporal Muhammad Muhaimin Hanafi from the Kota Setar police headquarters wading through the floodwaters in Kampung Kaki Bukit, Derang, cradling the feline.
The cat was then carried safely in a boat alongside other policemen as part of a mission by Kedah police to assist flood victims.
The caption reads: "May this noble act for another living being become the lifeblood of the heroes in blue to continue to serve the community."
The video has drawn much praise from netizens.
User Sabariahyahaya commented: "Thank you to the good folks who saved the cat. Only Allah knows, PDRM (Royal Malaysia Police) is the best."
