KUALA LUMPUR: An act of kindness by a woman who saved a cat from getting knocked down by vehicles on a busy road, has earned her praise and well wishes from netizens.
A 1-minute 29-second feline rescue video showing a woman crossing a busy road just to save a terrified-looking cat stuck near a road divider has been going viral on social media.
The video showed the woman who was wearing a black headscarf stopping her car on a busy road and crossing the road just to rescue the poor cat in distress, has earned her thousands of praises for her deed on social media platform TikTok.
In the video the woman is seen taking a cat carrier towards the frightened cat and as soon as she opened the carrier the cat walked straight into it, allowing her to save the feline from getting hit by the moving vehicles.
Upon rescuing the cat, she drove to a pet studio, where she placed some food and water for the cat inside a playpen.
The cat was eating the dried cat food and adjusting to its new surroundings.
It was also seen trying to make friends with the woman's pet cat at the pet studio before it returned to its designated pen.
The video she posted also came with a caption that read, "Almost daily you can see dead cats in this area. Please don't throw cats, even worse don't just abandon them on a busy road like this one".
She too goes on to advise viewers not to leave their pets to stray, when they are no longer wanted.
"I just hope this cat was not abandoned by its owner on the road, where I had found it just now. Think twice before you decide to own a pet," she wrote.
The video posted less than 24 hours ago by 'diana cat studio' has so far been liked by more than 70,000 netizens and received over 3,000 comments.
Among the comments were mostly from netizens who thanked her for her kindness and bravery in rescuing the cat.
One Tik Tok user, nramxlna said: "That's a lucky cat, not all cats have the same fate, especially on the Duke Highway, every day you can see remains of cats which have been run over. Most of the time, it's in the fast lane".
Another user, Cik Sitti wrote:"Not everyone would be willing to do what you have done. Thank you sis, only god can repay your kindness. Hopefully you receive all the blessings for your good deed. Amin".
Many concerned/ curious netizens wanted to know what happened to the rescued cat after that.
A few of them requested the TikToker to make another video to show how the cat was coping in its new environment.
