KUALA LUMPUR: A grandfather's loving efforts to teach a two-year and six-month-old toddler with Down syndrome to walk has melted the hearts of netizens.
In a video shared on the TikTok app by user @madahmawaddahh0, she captured the moment where her father taught her son to walk by improvising with a stool.
"All this time, it's not that he refused to walk, but he was unable to do so. Atok is training Haider how to walk. Thank you, Atok," she wrote in her caption.
In the video, Haider's grandfather could be seen patiently teaching him to walk using a modified stool.
The toddler was holding a stick attached to the modified stool for support while slowly taking steps around it.

Another user @zeiylasuhaimi said, "I have a child with Down syndrome. I asked the grandfather to make a DIY (do-it-yourself) walker. My child has started walking."
