Decrease in flood evacuees across Kelantan, Terengganu and Johor

KUALA LUMPUR: The number of flood evacuees has decreased in Kelantan, Terengganu, and Johor, while figures have risen in Sabah as of 4.45pm today.

According to the Welfare Department's Info Bencana portal, the number of evacuees in Kelantan has dropped to 623 individuals from 194 families in relief centres this afternoon, down from 882 people from 267 families relocated to 19 centres this morning.

Tanah Merah recorded the highest number of evacuees, with 637 individuals from 196 families, followed by Pasir Mas, which had 11 evacuees from 3 families.

Kuala Krai reported that only two victims from one family were still residing in the relief centre.

In Terengganu, evacuees decreased from 651 in the morning to 238 individuals from 63 families. All have been relocated to five relief centres in the Besut district.

Kota Tinggi in Johor saw 13 victims from four families evacuated to a relief centre. Earlier, eight families from Kluang were evacuated to a flood relief centre in Kampung Bukit Nyamuk, which was activated at 8.40pm yesterday.

Meanwhile, in Sabah, only one relief centre in Semporna remains open, housing 71 evacuees from 12 families.
