PUTRAJAYA: The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) has appointed 26 celebrities and social media influencers as strategic partners to create content that raises awareness, educates the public, and promotes a sense of tax responsibility toward the nation.
The IRB announced that the influencers selected as Strategic Partners of HASiL (RASH) 2.0 come from diverse fields, including entrepreneurship, religion, acting, medicine, fashion and lifestyle, fitness and health, as well as financial management, it said in a statement.
"Their appointment represents a fresh perspective in shaping positive perceptions among the general public, especially fans and followers of RASH 2.0, through their engaging and constructive content, particularly on matters related to the IRB," the statement read.
IRB chief executive officer Datuk Dr Abu Tariq Jamaluddin said involving celebrities and influencers in the tax ecosystem is vital for promoting positive sentiments, building trust and credibility, and cultivating a responsible society.
"Their visibility and reach are significant assets that can amplify the IRB's efforts to promote tax awareness and education, ultimately enhancing patriotism and responsibility among Malaysians," he said. — Bernama
