Soldier from Mersing Iskandar Army Camp feared missing

JOHOR BARU: A 25-year-old soldier from the Iskandar Army Camp in Mersing has been reported missing after he failed to report for duty on Dec 16.

Johor Baru (South) police chief, Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat, said Dodit Wilman, of Rungus descent from Sabah, was last seen leaving his house in the Cahaya Senibong People's Housing Project (PPR) in Masai at 7.30pm on Dec 8.

He had been staying there with his brother and his family.

His sister-in-law filed a missing person report at the Permas Jaya police station at 12.38pm on Dec 17, after the camp told them he had failed to report for duty the day earlier.

Raub said Dodit left the PPR estate in his orange Perodua Viva, with the registration number BKS1233.

He added that efforts to contact Dodit via his mobile phone were futile.

"Missing person notices were distributed across police stations in the state, while checks on the integrated police reporting system revealed there were no arrests or mishaps involving Dodit."

Anyone with information on Dodit's whereabouts are urged to contact the nearest police station or the Johor Baru (South) district headquarters' hotline at 07-2182323.
