KENINGAU: Two passengers were hurt in a five-vehicle accident at Km11 of Jalan Kimanis here today.
The two passengers were trapped in the cabin of a six-tonne lorry in the 12.50pm incident.
District police chief Superintendent Yampil Garai said the accident involved two lorries, including a trailer, two four-wheel drives and a Toyota Avanza.
He said all vehicles were heading from Papar to Keningau via Jalan Kimanis.
"At Km 11, the six-tonne lorry is believed to have lost control while descending a hill and crashed into a Toyota Fortuner.
"The four-wheel drive collided with three other vehicles in front of it, causing them to veer off the road," he said today.
He said the two trapped lorry assistants were rescued by the Fire and Rescue Department and taken to hospital by ambulance.
"The extent of their injuries is unclear. Investigations are ongoing."
