Sanusi thanks PM Anwar for Hyundai investment, stays silent on sabotage claims

ALOR STAR: Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor today expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for supporting Hyundai Motor's RM2.14 billion investment in Kulim.

However, the Perikatan Nasional Jeneri assemblyman remains firm in his decision not to disclose further details regarding his previous allegation of a plot to sabotage investments in Kedah.

Sanusi stressed that there are things that should be made public and there are sensitive matters that should be kept secret.

"There are many things in this world that I am keeping close to my chest. I have revealed so many things, but those that keep on my chest are more than that," he said.

"I use them to guide me in making decisions and stands or making any statements.

"About the grand design, I am keeping it to myself as I want to see how far they want to go and whatever decision I am making will be based on the knowledge that I keep to myself."

Sanusi said he would not be forced by anyone to reveal details of his allegations.

"You guys just wait for the payback from me. That's how the world works ever since the beginning of time until the end of this world," he said in his winding-up of the Kedah Budget 2025 debate session in the State Assembly in Wisma Darul Aman here today.

"They (the opposition assemblymen) said the federal government did not sabotage (Kedah), that's why Hyundai agreed to invest here. Hence, they demanded that I disclose the details (of the investment sabotage). It is up to me if I want to reveal (details) or not."

Sanusi later expressed his appreciation to the prime minister for backing Hyundai Motor's investment in Kulim.

Yesterday, three Kedah Pakatan Harapan assemblymen urged Sanusi to provide evidence to support his claims, especially after Anwar endorsed Hyundai Motor's additional investment in Kulim.

On Sunday, Sanusi claimed that there was a 'grand design' to deter investment into Kedah, which is controlled by the opposition.

Following the claims, Kedah Umno has urged Sanusi to name the alleged mastermind, while criticising the claim as an attempt to create false perceptions to cover the Kedah government's failure to realize previously announced investments.

However, Sanusi has remained firm in his decision not to reveal details of his allegations.
