KUALA LUMPUR: Cosmetics entrepreneur Datuk Seri Hasmiza Othman, popularly known as Datuk Vida, has requested space to resolve the issue regarding her home and four luxury vehicles, which were seized after she failed to settle a debt exceeding RM1 million.
Vida, 53, stated that she has appointed a lawyer to address the matter.
"I take this issue seriously and will give it my full attention," she said in a statement via her social media account last night.
"I have appointed a lawyer to advise and assist me in resolving this issue in the best way possible and according to the law," she added.
Hasmiza also expressed her appreciation for the support from all parties.
She hopes to be given space to handle the matter calmly and professionally.
Earlier, it was reported that household items and four luxury vehicles belonging to Hasmiza in Ipoh were seized after she failed to settle outstanding payments for the renovation of her factory.
According to an English daily, she was reported to have failed to pay the remaining balance for the renovation of her factory in Shah Alam, Selangor, which was converted into a studio in 2018, amounting to RM1,060,285.
The seizure order was issued by the Kuala Lumpur High Court yesterday.
