KUALA LUMPUR: Around 3,000 job vacancies will be available at the Two Years Madani Government Programme (2TM) and the 2024 National Convention on Civil Service Reform, scheduled from Nov 22 to 24 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
The head of corporate communications of the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (Pacu) at the Prime Minister's Office, Sapian Mamat, said apart from the job openings offered by 40 employers, more than 150 selected services will be available to visitors.
The event is a continuation of the Madani Government One Year Anniversary programme and the Madani Rakyat initiative.
He said the Road Transport Department will set up counters to pay fines and helmet exchanges, and the Royal Malaysia Police will offer a 60 per cent reduction of compounds, in addition to the Madani Sale event involving 80 entrepreneurs throughout the three-day event from 9 am to 6 pm.
"The Public Service Department will also provide pension and retirement advisory services, sponsorship programmes, and explanations on the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA), in addition to free certificate reprints and many other services," he said while appearing as a guest on Bernama Radio's Jendela Fikir programme.
He said several activities would co-occur across Malaysia over the three days.
"Aerobics sessions for the Two Years of Madani Government event will be held nationwide at Youth and Sports Complexes, and these complexes are open, free of charge, to the public for three days. The public is encouraged to take full advantage of the available facilities.
"Putrajaya Cruise and Pulse Grande Hotel are also offering discounts, in addition to free entry to the National Science Centre and the National Planetarium during the event," he said.
Sapian advised visitors to use public transportation, such as shuttle buses and trains, to reach the event venues to avoid traffic congestion, stressing the importance of ensuring their safety, especially their children, as the number of visitors is expected to be high.
On Nov 9, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, also the spokesperson for the Unity Government, targeted more than 230,000 visitors to attend the event, given its strategic location.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to officiate the programme at 11 am on Nov 23. -- BERNAMA
