KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin says the party is not behind a series of leaked videos of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah assemblymen allegedly discussing bribes.
"We are not involved in this scandal," said Bung, adding the party only wanted the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate the matter.
In a Sinar Harian report, Bung, the Kinabatangan member of parliament, said those who give and receive bribes must be investigated.
So far, several GRS assemblymen including Sindumin and Kemabong reps, Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob and Datuk Rubin Balang have been implicated in the videos published by Malaysiakini.
For the record, Yusof claimed the video implicating him was generated"element of corruption" in his meeting with another person that was captured in the video.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, who is also GRS chairman, said the state has nothing to hide and will cooperate with MACC.
