TAMPIN: Police are searching for an 18-year-old who has not returned home for over a week after leaving for work on Oct 22 (Tuesday).
The teenager, identified as Puteri Ellyana Natasha Abdullah, was last seen when her father dropped her off at a fast-food restaurant in town here.
District police chief Superintendent Amiruddien Sariman said the father managed to contact her the following day (Oct 23), but her exact location remains unknown.
"At around 2pm on Oct 22, her father, in his 40s, dropped her off at her workplace.
"However, when he came to pick her up at 11pm, she was not there," he said today.
Amiruddien said the father returned home and discovered the girl still hadn't come back. He suspected she had left with a friend to Rawang, Selangor.
"The next day (Oct 23), the father filed a police report about her disappearance at the Rawang police station.
"However, on the same day at 10.17pm, he managed to contact her. The girl told her father she was in Penang and would return after regaining her composure.
"Despite this, on Oct 29, the father informed the investigating officer that she had not yet returned home and could not be reached," he said.
Amiruddien urged anyone with information about Puteri Ellyana to contact the Tampin district police headquarters at 06-4431999.
"The public can also contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Major Hasmadi Haron, at 06-4411222 or any nearby police station to assist with the investigation."
