PUTRAJAYA: Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry (Motac) is monitoring the issue of hotel check-in registrations in the country and is giving serious attention to ensure that industry players provide clarification.
In a statement yesterday, Motac indicated that the ministry welcomes further information from the public regarding this issue, which can be sent via email to info@motac.gov.my.
The ministry also advised the public to always read and understand the terms and conditions set by hotels before making a reservation.
"This step is important to avoid any misunderstandings or dissatisfaction, particularly concerning pricing and the services provided," the statement said.
Recently, media reports highlighted that some hotel operators have set check-in times starting at 4pm and check-out times at 11am.
This policy has sparked discussions among netizens, who largely feel that such actions are unfair to customers due to the relatively short duration of stay provided.
