KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has reiterated that it is still in discussions with both Sarawak and the federal government, as well as Petroleum Sarawak Bhd (Petros), toward achieving mutual resolution regarding the distribution of natural gas.
The national oil firm viewed that a win-win partnership needed to be established based on the understanding of each other's strengths and constraints to reach a holistic resolution.
"Our position is that any resolution developed by all parties must have the country's best interest at heart and should not jeopardise the economic stability of the country," Petronas said in a statement today.
It was reported that Petronas is considering filing a court injunction against the Sarawak state government regarding the rights to distribute natural gas in Sarawak.
"To this end, we remain fully committed to working together with all parties to preserve a thriving and conducive investment climate in Malaysia," said Petronas. -- BERNAMA
