Lorry crash in Setia Alam blamed on brake failure [WATCH]

SHAH ALAM: A soil-laden lorry lost control and crashed into the grounds of an apartment in Setia Alam on Saturday morning, believed to have been caused by brake failure.

According to deputy district police chief Supt. Ramsay Anak Embol, the incident, which occurred around 8.42am, involved a lorry from Persiaran Setia Makmur.

The driver, in his early 30s, lost control while making a left turn, veering into the opposite lane.

According to initial investigations, the lorry then collided with a fence and a rubbish disposal area within the apartment compound.

"The incident is believed to have been caused by brake failure, leading to the driver losing control," authorities said.

The accident is being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959, which governs road traffic violations.



Police have appealed for independent witnesses or members of the public with information to assist in the investigation.
