KUALA LUMPUR: The recent reshuffle of secretaries-general across several ministries is a key part of the government's strategy to reform the civil service.
Malaysian Administrative and Diplomatic Service Association (PPTD) honorary secretary Muhammad 'Arif Ya'kub said that these changes were essential for enhancing civil service leadership and effectively implementing government policies.
Yesterday, Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar announced a significant reshuffle affecting seven ministries, aiming to boost efficiency and effectiveness in the public sector.
"This reshuffle is a crucial element of the public service reform agenda spearheaded by Shamsul Azri. It aims to enhance collaboration among civil service members to support the Madani government's economic recovery goals," he said in a press statement.
He urged all members and Administrative and Diplomatic Officers (PTD) to remain focused, uphold professionalism, and maintain integrity in their roles.
Shamsul Azri, who succeeded Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali, previously served as the Director-General of the Public-Private Partnership Unit (Ukas).
With three decades of experience in public service, Shamsul Azri has held various positions at the Finance Ministry, Public Service Department, and state government administration.
