PEKAN: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, today visited the family of two siblings who were killed
after a trailer crashed into their home at Kampung Ketapang Hilir in Pekan on Aug 3.
The Pahang ruler also handed over a donation to the siblings' parents Nasruddin Othman, 60 and Norrulaini Mohd Hassan, 54, through their eldest son Mohd Fakhrul Hafis, 35.
After presenting the aid, Al-Sultan Abdullah also inspected the damaged house which was located in the vicinity.
Fakhrul said Al-Sultan Abdullah had advised the family to take legal action against the lorry driver and the respective transportation company.
"The Sultan also decreed for the house which was destroyed in the incident to be rebuilt. The Sultan sympathised with my family over the loss of two family members," he told reporters after the visit.
Fakhrul said his parents were currently staying at his place located not far from the damaged house.
Also present were Pahang Investment, Industries, Science, Technology and Innovation Committee chairman Datuk Mohamad Nizar Najib, Pekan member of parliament Datuk Seri Sh Mohmed Puzi Sh Ali and Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman.
In the 4.15am incident on Aug 3, siblings Nurnazatul Fasiha Nasruddin, 32, and her brother, Mohd Waldon Faris Nasruddin, 21, were killed when a trailer driver believed to be under the influence of drugs ploughed into their house.
Yahaya was reported saying the trailer driver who has been remanded was investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death due to reckless or dangerous driving, and Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 with self-administration or consumption of dangerous drugs.
