KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur International Airport Immigration director Tuan Sadim Abdul died on duty yesterday, according to the Home Ministry.
News of his sudden passing at 4.20pm yesterday was shared by Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, who expressed his condolences and called Tuan Sadim's passing a significant loss.
"The Home Ministry and Immigration Department received shocking and saddening news of the passing of Tuan Sadim Abdul," he said in a Facebook post.
Saifuddin said he visited the Forensic Medicine Department at Serdang Hospital last night to pay his respects and meet with the family of the deceased, who had arrived from Sabah.
"In all my years of knowing him, the late Tuan Sadim Abdul was a person who was very committed to his duties and was well-liked by many. His passing is a great loss to all of us," Saifuddin said.
He also extended condolences to Tuan Sadim Abdul's wife and four children, wishing them strength during this difficult time.
"May the late Tuan Sadim Abdul's soul be blessed with mercy, his sins forgiven, his good deeds accepted, and that he is placed among the righteous and faithful, God willing. Al-Fatihah."
