BALING: A driver miraculously escaped with minor injuries after his Perodua Myvi plunged down a 120-metre slope following a loss of control on Friday (June 21).
The incident occurred at 5.30pm along the Baling-Gerik road, when the 26-year-old driver was navigating a bend on the slope.
Baling police chief Superintendent Shamsudin Mamat said that the driver, an assistant at the Baling Health Clinic, was returning from his hometown in Kelantan.
"Upon reaching a point near Kampung Kemangi, the driver lost control of the vehicle while navigating a downhill bend on a wet road surface.
"The car crashed into the left roadside railing before plunging down the 120-metre slope," he said in a statement.
Shamsudin added that the driver, who sustained minor scratches and cuts on his shoulder and limbs, was taken to Baling Hospital for treatment.
