Two arrested, imitation firearms seized in Sabah raid

KOTA KINABALU: Police arrested two persons and seized imitation guns in a raid on premises in Kolombong near here yesterday.

Sabah Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Azmi Abd Rahim said the D9 Special Investigation Unit went to the place at 2pm following a tip-off.

It found various types of replica firearms, including of Beretta and Glock semi-automatic pistols.

"The team seized the items, as well as plastic bullets and a shooting board," he said today.

The owner of the premises and an 18-year-old female storekeeper were arrested, he added.

"The owner admitted to possessing the replica firearms but claimed he didn't know this is illegal.

"He also revealed that the items were purchased on a social media platform," Azmi added.
