Ferrari goes missing at car wash, 6 arrested

AMPANG JAYA: The disappearance of a Ferrari from a car wash in Hulu Kelang on Nov 17 led to the arrest of six people linked to the theft.

The district police headquarters' Criminal Investigation Department (CID) detained five men and one woman, aged between 23 and 40, around Ampang.

Selangor Police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said five suspects are Malaysians, while one is a foreign national.

"One suspect has two prior narcotics-related offences and tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.

"The remaining five have no criminal records and tested negative," he said in a statement.

He said the arrests led to the recovery of various items, including eight mobile phones, two sets of car keys (one for a Ferrari, the other for a Kia), a crossbody bag, a Malaysian passport, a lanyard with a knife, and four vehicles, namely, the Ferrari in question, a Naza Suria, a BMW X5, and another BMW.

Police also confiscated three remote controls, one each for BMW, Honda, and Toyota vehicles, a house access card, and a clear plastic bag labelled "Diamond."

"Three suspects have been released on bail, while two remain in custody until Nov 27, and one until Dec 3," Hussein said.

The police continue their investigation to track down accomplices in the case.
