SHAH ALAM : Twenty nine people have been remanded between one to seven days starting today to facilitate investigations into GISB Holdings (GISB).
Shah Alam magistrate's court Assistant Registrar Md Subri Hashim granted the applications for the remand order for the suspects aged 19 to 62.
They are being detained at the central lock up at the Shah Alam, Subang Jaya and Petaling Jaya police headquarters.
The investigations are under Section 31 (a) of the Child Act 2001, Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 and Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007.
The 13 men and 16 women had earlier today arrived at the court at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Building at about 11.30am.
Yesterday, the media reported that the Selangor police raided business premises believed to be primarily linked to GISB during an operation in Bandar Country Homes, Rawang.
The operation beginning 6.30am involved 50 officers and 200 personnel from the state police headquarters together with the Federal Reserve Unit , Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) and Selayang Municipal Council.
