TEMERLOH: An unemployed man was arrested for possessing two homemade rifles and drugs during a raid at Kampung Baru Belenggu near here yesterday.
Police seized drugs, believed to be syabu, weighing 55g and worth RM6,500 from the 40-year-old suspect.
Temerloh police chief Assistant Commissioner Mazlan Hassan said that acting on a tip-off, a team of officers conducted the raid at the suspect's house at 11pm.
"Police found a sling bag containing transparent plastic packets with drugs believed to be syabu, valued at RM6,500. Inside the house, the raiding team also discovered two homemade rifles.
"Investigations revealed that the suspect, who tested positive for methamphetamine, had previous drug-related offences. We are currently seeking a remand order against him," he said in a statement today.
The suspect is being investigated under Section 39B and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, as well as Section 6 of the Firearms Act 1960.
