MUAR: A former special officer to a member of parliament was charged with physical sexual misconduct against a female student at a swimming pool in Batu Pahat last month.
The accused, Zainoor Juma'at, 45, the parent-teacher association president at a secondary school in Rengit, pleaded not guilty after the charge was read by the court interpreter before Sessions Court judge Sayani Mohd Nor.
Zainoor, a father of four, allegedly committed the offence against the 15-year-old victim at the Pura Kencana swimming pool in Sri Gading here at 6pm on July 25.
Based on the police report, the victim claimed she was swimming with a friend when the accused approached and committed the act.
Following the incident, the victim lodged a report at the Rengit police station on Aug 15, which led to Zainoor's arrest.
Zainoor is also under investigation after a male student from the same school had accused him of physical misconduct.
The student lodged a police report against him at the Johor Baru (South) police headquarters.
The incident allegedly took place at a hotel in Johor Baru.
Meanwhile, in a separate case heard at the same court, a 36-year-old security guard, 36, pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual misconduct involving his 16-month-old daughter at their home in Tongkang Pechah, Batu Pahat, last week.
The father of three was accused of committing the act at 10am on Aug 13.
Deputy public prosecutor Danial Munir led the prosecution, while Siti Aishah Mohd Rais represented Zainoor. The security guard was unrepresented.
Earlier, the prosecution did not offer bail for either accused.
However, after considering submissions from both sides, the court granted Zainoor bail of RM8,000, while no bail was offered to the security guard.
The court scheduled both cases for mention on Sept 25 and 26 for document submission and further legal appointments.
