TELUK INTAN: Police arrested four teenage boys yesterday on suspicion of raping an 11-year-old girl.
Hilir Perak district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Adnan Basri said the suspects aged between 14 and 17 years were arrested at different locations between 3pm and 10pm after the victim lodged a police report at 12.26pm yesterday.
He said based on the investigation, the first and second suspects are believed to have taken turns raping the victim in a car when the victim went out with them to the Lata Kinjang waterfall in Tapah at 6.30pm on Wednesday.
"At 8.30pm on the same day, the third suspect raped the victim when she followed the suspect back to his house in the Hilir Perak district.
"Another suspect raped the victim at 12.30pm on Thursday in some bushes in Teluk Intan while the victim and the suspect were out sight-seeing.
"Initial investigations found that two suspects who are still in school and the other two who are not in school admitted to being involved in this case," he said in a statement today.
The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code.
He said further investigations found that the victim befriended the first suspect through social media and he introduced the victim to the other three individuals involved.
"The four are currently on remand for three days until Sunday for further investigation. The investigation papers will be referred to the deputy public prosecutor soon."
Ahmad Adnan reminded parents to constantly monitor the movements of their children, so that they know who their children are with and where they are going to ensure their safety.
