GWM Tank 500 SUV and Wey 80 MPV make first Malaysian appearance at KLIMS 2024

KUALA LUMPUR: Great Wall Motor Malaysia has today previewed two models, GWM Tank 500 and GWM Wey 80, at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2024.

GWM Malaysia said the two vehicles showcase its dedication to innovation, performance and user-centric design.

"Further, they highlight the brand's commitment to sustainable mobility solutions for the Malaysian market," it added.

GWM Malaysia managing director Cui Anqi said the exclusive preview of the Tank 500 and Wey 80 at KLIMS 2024 represents its dedication to meeting the evolving needs of Malaysian consumers.

"We are excited to be part of Malaysia's journey toward a greener, smarter future," he said at the preview.

The massive seven-seater Tank 500 will sit above the five-seater Tank 300 and compete with the likes of the Ford Everest and Toyota Fortuner.

It measures 4,928 milimetres (mm) long, 1,934 mm wide and 1,905 mm tall, meaning that the 500 is 160 mm longer, four mm wider and two mm taller than the 300, while its 2,850 mm wheelbase is 100 mm longer.

The Wey 80, meanwhile, is a three-row people mover, which will enter a fast swelling MPV arena.

It measures in at 5,045 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,900 mm tall, with a 3,085 mm-long wheelbase,

GWM's participation at KLIMS 2024 reflects the brand's broader global strategy of delivering high-quality vehicles tailored to local needs.

Alongside the Tank 500 and WEY 80, GWM will showcase other popular models, including the Haval H6 HEV and Ora Good Cat.
