SINGER Kaka Azraff, known for her soulful voice and dynamic performances, has described 2024 as a year of lessons and personal growth.
The 35-year-old artiste, whose real name is Nor Atiqa Noor Azraff, shared that this year's challenges have shaped her as a woman, mother, daughter, and singer.
"The year 2024 taught me many things. It opened my eyes, heart, and emotions.
"I experienced loss as a daughter when I lost my mother and as a sister when I lost my older sibling.
"It was a tough year for my household and career," she said in a recent interview.
Despite the hardships, Kaka emphasised that she's emerged stronger and more resilient.
"I've gone through a lot, but it has made me more confident to face the challenges ahead.
"I am grateful for everything that has happened. I hope 2025 brings a fresh, clean slate," she added.
Kaka made these heartfelt revelations at the recent launch of a new clothing line by her aunt and legendary Malaysian rocker, Ella, in Kuala Lumpur.
The event showcased her family's close-knit bond, which has been a pillar of strength during her tumultuous year.
Kaka, who is also an actress and host, revealed that 2024 was also a year of introspection.
"I spent a lot of time rediscovering myself. Every day is a journey of learning who I am. I've also prioritised spending quality time with my family. Thank God I still have aunts like Jojie and Ella, who have been like mothers to me," she said.
NEW CHAPTER
This year also marked a significant shift in Kaka's personal life. She confirmed her divorce from Adam Azriff on Oct 28 last year, after nearly five years of marriage.
The couple, who tied the knot on Dec 14, 2018, share three children.
Kaka's focus now lies on building a brighter future for herself and her children.
"I'm grateful for the sustenance that keeps coming for my kids. My goal is to stay strong and make 2025 a better year for all of us," she said.
Amidst the personal challenges, Kaka is also stepping into a new chapter in her music career.
She announced plans to release a new single this year under her own management, AAA Entertainment, named after her three kids.
"This will be my first release under my management, and it's incredibly special to me.
"The song maintains the essence of Kaka but with a more mature twist in its lyrics and storytelling.
"I'm handling everything myself this time, which is both exciting and nerve-wracking," she shared.
Having spent 13 years in the entertainment industry with the support of management teams, Kaka acknowledged that this new venture comes with its own set of challenges.
"There's a mix of emotions, but I'm excited to see what 2025 holds. I'm feeling a positive aura and pray that everything goes smoothly," she said with optimism.
