#SHOWBIZ: Sophia Albarakbah unfazed by gossip over pairing with Fattah Amin

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Sophia Albarakbah is unperturbed by potential gossip surrounding her collaboration with Fattah Amin in the upcoming drama, Aku Cinta Dia.

Sophia, who will star opposite the recently divorced Fattah, emphasised that her focus remains on delivering a strong performance.

"Criticism will come regardless of anyone's status. For me, someone's personal life doesn't influence my work as an actress.

"I'm not worried about what people might say. Whether I do something right or wrong, there will always be opinions.

"My priority is to fulfill my responsibility as an actress and portray the character well," she told BH Online.

Sophia, who previously collaborated with Fattah in the 2019 film Miimaland, expressed confidence in their ability to work together again.

"This is our second project together, and I hope it goes smoothly.

"The last time, I was still new to the industry, so this feels like a fresh start.

"With the experience we both bring, I'm optimistic," she said.

The drama, directed by Erma Fatima, marks the first project under Usanita Sdn Bhd's new entertainment division, Usanita Entertainment.

Usanita recently announced Fattah Amin as its Exclusive Ambassador and Sophia Albarakbah as its New Face for 2025.

This collaboration is part of Usanita's effort to strengthen the local creative industry and elevate Malaysian talent globally.

In a groundbreaking move, Aku Cinta Dia will premiere exclusively on Usanita's TikTok platform, offering viewers a fresh digital viewing experience.
