KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Kong actress Dada Chan has lost a deposit exceeding HK$1.6 million (RM917,545) after backing out of a luxury penthouse purchase in Tai Kok Tsui.
According to HK01, the three-bedroom unit was originally on sale for HK$22.88 million (RM13.1 million) in July 2022, with a price tag of HK$32,826 (RM18,824) per square foot.
However, Chan recently backed out of the deal and forfeited over HK$1.6 million (RM917,545) in deposit fees.
Dimsum Daily reported that the penthouse has a usable area of 64.7 square metres.
Chan was drawn to the property for its stunning views of Victoria Harbour.
Chan began her career as a model in 2007 and made her acting debut the following year in the film Besieged City.
She is best known for the 2012 comedy Vulgaria, for which she won Best Supporting Actress at the 32nd Hong Kong Film Awards.
Other shows Chan has starred in include Z Storm (2014), 12 Golden Ducks (2015) and Misbehaviour (2019).
