KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian actress Susan Lankester was named National Winner for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the recent Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) 2024 for her role in Raintown.
The 62-year-old artiste, who played Aileen Choo in the poignant Cantonese family drama film directed by Tunku Mona Riza, shared the good news recently on her Instagram account.
Thanking the cast and crew, she wrote: "Thank you to The Choos - Chew Kin Wah, Pauline Tan, Wilson Lee & Fabian Loo. I love you all."
"And most of all, huge thanks to the Raintown crew for making the film look, feel and sound the way it does. "And for taking such great care of us on set and off. Mad respect for all of you," she added.
In her post, Lankester also listed down the crew behind the film produced by Current Pictures.
They included producers Haris Sulong, Shaby Maharom, and Fazlynne Majid, photography director Eric Yeong, art director Ju Min and editor Isazaly Isa.
The AACA recently announced the various National Winners who will now represent their countries at the Grand Awards and Gala Final to be held in Singapore on Dec 3 and 4.
It was reported that winners from 16 nations will compete in 41 categories.
