KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Datuk Nora Ariffin has confirmed that she and her husband, Dr Rushdi Ramli, have reconciled just a month after announcing their divorce in a video shared on Instagram.
Speaking to BH Online yesterday, Nora expressed her gratitude that the issues in her marriage had been resolved, though she did not reveal details about the reconciliation process or the exact timeline.
"Alhamdulillah, by the will of Allah, my husband and I have reconciled. We can only plan, but ultimately, it is God who decides.
"It wasn't long after the event occurred. I'm sharing this to avoid any confusion about the 'iddah' period," she said.
Nora, currently in Cambodia, requested prayers from the public and hoped others could learn from her experience.
"I hope this situation doesn't happen again," she added.
During a press conference for her Konsert Hanya Satu Datuk Nora Ariffin 30 Years Journey at BsyncLive Hall, Nora hinted at leaving her future with her former husband in the hands of fate.
On Aug 12, Nora posted a 52-second Instagram video showing Dr Rushdi pronouncing their divorce.
She later clarified that the event had occurred before the video was shared online.
Following the viral post, Nora faced criticism but defended her former husband, explaining that the divorce had not been his decision.
Nora and Rushdi were married in 2021. Rushdi was also a close friend of Nora's late husband, Johan Nawawi, a renowned composer who died in 2017 from a heart attack at the age of 52.
