KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Rozita Che Wan is looking forward to the merisik (meeting with the bride) event of her eldest son, Ammar Effendy Azuar, 28, next week.
She said in a Berita Harian report yesterday that it did not matter who her son's future wife was, so long as she was kind, polite and respectful of her future in-laws.
Rozita or Che Ta said that she never placed conditions on her children when it came to finding life partners.
Rozita, 51, said that she was happy to welcome a new member to her family.
"I like my son's future wife because she wears a hijab, besides being humble, caring and compassionate.
"It doesn't matter who Ammar chooses, I just want my son to be happy. As a husband, Ammar needs to be a friend and protector to her."
Rozita added that Ammar's future wife was not the type who liked to spend hours on social media, and enjoyed spending quality time with her loved ones.
"She is a university graduate from a well-educated family. Her father works abroad but he often returns to Malaysia and used to play golf with Ammar."
Rozita hinted that the wedding ceremony will take place next year.
"Let's all pray for the ceremony to go smoothly," she said.
