KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Puteri Sarah Liyana Kamaruddin will proceed with her intention of taking her former employee Nazatul Nazira to court.
In a Berita Harian report today, the 38-year-old artiste was quoted as saying that she had filed two charges against Nazatul, one for slander, and the other for breach of trust.
Earlier, Puteri Sarah arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex at 2.25pm, accompanied by her legal counsel Mohd Azmi Rais.
Confident that the truth would prevail, she was adamant in carrying on with her intention of proving that she was in the right.
"I just want to fight for my rights and I have been waiting to prove that I was right, for the past two years. We shall see if there is any solution to this at all.
"If the other party wants to play hard, then I'll play hard as well. I've been patient enough, and I just want to set the record straight," she told reporters.
Earlier, she had filed a summon and claim for RM1 million from Nazatul as compensation for her alleged slanderous statements.
Among other things, she had allegedly made statements claiming that Puteri Sarah had been taking substances, supporting an individual named Andy, and that the artiste was an employer and a business partner who liked to maltreat her subordinates.
It was also believed that the individual had also labelled her as someone who was arrogantly stupid.
Puteri Sarah also said she was now seeking for that former employee to retract those statements and to publicly apologise to her.
