#SHOWBIZ: Sons Of Adam celebrates 55th anniversary on Saturday

KUALA LUMPUR: Veterans and classic rock and blues lovers of the 1970s are in for a rare treat this Saturday (July 27).

Sons Of Adam, one of the oldest names still active in the club scene in Malaysia, marks their 55th anniversary with a special showcase on that day.

A statement from the band said that this will take place at Poolside Bistro in Ideas Hotel, Jalan Raja Laut at 8pm and tickets priced RM100 include a buffet and lucky draw.

Fans of the group can expect rare classics from rock legends as Deep Purple, Santana, Cream and Uriah Heep, alongside classic hits of the band including Pak Mat Groovy, Hey Bro and Memori Duka.

The band was formed in 1969 as The Gypsies and changed their name to Sons Of Adam in 1972.

Sons Of Adam have been a cornerstone of the psychedelic rock and blues scene, captivating audiences with their raw energy and sound.

They are one of the iconic bands that can lay claim to having performed at Malaysia's version of Woodstock in 1972, Camp Semangat, together with The Falcons and The Strollers.

Former national athlete and drummer Ruzlan Omar, 72, is the leader of the band which also comprises bassist Lee Master Blaster, guitarist Daud Ardinand, keyboardist Ahmad Satiman and vocalist Syahril Salleh.

They will be joined by guitarist Lolen Bonfire in the two-hour showcase.
