Bina Darulaman's auditors, KPMG, resign four months after reappointment

KUALA LUMPUR: Bina  Darulaman Bhd's external auditor KPMG PLT has resigned four months into its reappointment at its last annual general meeting.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia Securities Bina Darulaman said KPMG was re-appointed as the auditors of the company at the 29th Annual General Meeting on May 30, 2024.

"Their resignation was based on mutual consent to enable the company to benefit from fresh perspectives and views of another audit firm," the company said in the filing.

Bina Darulaman also announced that it had appointed Messrs. BDO PLT after assessing their independence, capabilities, audit team and proposed audit fees for financial year ending Dec 31, 2024 in place of KPMG subject to the company receiving the written consent to act as auditors of the company.

The company will announce further details once the written consent to act has been received.

Its share price closed 31.5 sen a share, giving it a market capitalisation of RM95.7 million yesterday.
