KUALA LUMPUR: Notion Vtec Bhd was issued an unusual market activity (UMA) query by Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd today after the company saw a sharp rise in its share price recently.
The company's stock price has doubled to RM1.88 a share since May 15, 2024.
Today, it reached a high of RM1.98 in the morning session before settling 1.6 per cent higher at RM1.88 a share, after Bursa Securities issued the UMA query, in the afternoon session.
Bursa Securities has asked Notion Vtec to update investors on any corporate development, rumour or report, or any other possible explanation for the heightened activity in the stock.
In the second quarter ended Sep 30, 2024, Notion Vtec swung to a net profit of RM14 milion on better contribution from hard disk drive manufacturing, automotive industries' components and electronic manufacturing services.
It recently announced an interim dividend of one sen.
