KUALA LUMPUR: At least 60 people experienced food poisoning at TikTok's parent company ByteDance office in Singapore yesterday.
The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and the Health Ministry said they are investigating the cases of suspected gastroenteritis, reported The Straits Times.
According to The Singapore Daily, 57 out of 60 people who developed symptoms sought medical care in hospitals yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received several calls requiring medical help at about 3.15pm. Seventeen ambulances were then deployed to the location.
A ByteDance spokesperson told The Straits Times the company has also taken action to support all affected employees, including working with emergency services.
"We are investigating the matter and are working with the relevant authorities on this."
The Straits Times said at least 30 SCDF personnel were deployed at the scene at 6.45pm yesterday, with two fire engines, a mass decontamination vehicle and an ambulance present.
