KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's Muay Thai sensation Johan Ghazali Zulfikar, better known as Jojo, delivered a knockout win over Mexican fighter Josue Cruz in ONE 168: Denver on Saturday, but what most don't know is that he did it with a previously broken hand.
Jojo revealed the stunning detail on his Facebook page, sharing a video of the injury that occurred six weeks before the bout.
"This is Jojo's broken hand, already injured before the fight. I almost pulled out, but Alhamdulillah, God gave me strength," he said.
Despite the setback, Jojo powered through, securing a first-round knockout and bagging a cool RM216,500 in prize money from ONE Championship.
The 21-year-old now has six wins from seven bouts, with five knockouts to his name.
His only loss came against Vietnam's Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat in June.
