KUALA LUMPUR: Swimmers Khiew Hoe Yean and Tan Rouxin will train with the Danish team to prepare for the Paris Olympics later this month.
Malaysia Swimming Federation (MAS) secretary-general Andy Low said Hoe Yean and Rouxin will start training in Denmark from mid-July
"They will train with the Paris-bound Danish squad," Andy told Bernama.
"We had planned this camp for quite some time with the assistance of Danish-born national coach Eric Anderson.
"They will begin the training camp there before going to Paris five days before the competition.
The Paris Olympic Games will run from July 26-Aug 11.
The swimming competition will be held at Paris La Defense Arena from July 27-Aug 4.
Andy said the training stint in Denmark will be a great platform for Hoe Yean and Rouxin to receive proper guidance from Anderson.
He said Hoe Yean is currently training in Australia while Rouxin is in Johor under her coach.
"Hoe Yean has been in Australia since early this year as part of his Olympic training programme."
MAS picked the 21-year-old Hoe Yean and Rouxin, 17, to fill in two Olympic universality slots given by World Aquatics.
Hoe Yean will compete in the men's 400m freestyle while Rouxin in the women's 100m breaststroke.
Meanwhile, MAS diving technical director Bryan Nickson Lomas said Paris-bound Nur Dhabitah Sabri would likely head to Southend, United Kingdom, for a training camp from July 9.
The former Olympian said Nur Dhabitah will join another Olympic-bound Malaysian diver, Bertrand Rhodict Lises in Southend.
