KUALA LUMPUR: National striker Fergus Tierney has been linked with a move to Thai League 1 side Nakhon Pathom United FC.
According to Thai football portal Think Curve, Tierney, currently a free agent, is expected to join the "King Tigers" for the remainder of the season.
The 21-year-old's contract with Thai League 2 club Chonburi FC was recently terminated, making him available during the ongoing mid-season transfer window, which closes on Jan 17.
The potential move comes as Nakhon Pathom , managed by Thongchai Sukokki, struggle to find a suitable striker.
The club sit in the relegation zone after 15 matches in the 16-team Thai League 1.
During his time at Chonburi, Tierney scored one goal in 13 appearances.
The Scottish-Malaysian made an impact for Harimau Malaya in the Asean Cup, recording a goal and an assist in matches against Cambodia and Timor Leste.
