Coach Kim Swee to part ways with Sabah

KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah FC head coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee announced today that he will leave his post after his contract expires at the end of this month.

His final match in charge of the Rhinos will be against PT Athletic in the Malaysia Cup round of 16 match at the KLFA Stadium in Cheras on Saturday.

In a statement, Kim Swee expressed his deep gratitude for the opportunity to lead the Sabah Super League team, and that the decision to part ways was not an easy one.

"It's with a heavy heart and a great deal of reflection that I announce my decision to move on.

"My time with Sabah has been nothing short of remarkable, and it has been an incredible privilege to be a part of this club's journey.

"I'm proud of what we've achieved, but I believe the time has come to take a new direction," said Kim Swee.

In the past three years, Sabah enjoyed a period of growth and competitive success under Kim Swee, and the coach has been credited with instilling a winning mentality and nurturing their next generation of football talent.

Kim Swee thanked the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, Sabah FA president, Datuk Shahelmey Yahya and the Sabah FC management for supporting him throughout his time in Sabah.
