KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) defender Syahmi Safari has sparked concern about his future this season with a cryptic Instagram post on Saturday.
The 26-year-old former Selangor player shared a striking black-and-white image of himself with the caption: "Thank you for the 2024/2025 season," leaving fans speculating about a possible long-term injury.
Further fuelling the uncertainty, Syahmi also posted a video clip showing the moment he suffered an injury during JDT's Super League clash with Penang last Thursday.
In the match, he replaced Jorge Obregon in the 76th minute, helping JDT to a dominant 5-0 win at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.
However, his night ended in disaster when, in the 90th minute, he sustained a serious injury following a heavy tackle from Penang's Adib Abdul Ra'op.
Syahmi had to be carried off the pitch, raising doubts about his availability for the rest of the season.
