ALOR SETAR: Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor was called to intervene in the alleged salary arrears issue facing Kedah Darul Aman (KDA) FC team.

Kedah 4B Youth Movement chairman Muhammad Najib Mohd Taib said the state authorities need to provide the appropriate support and attention to ensure that the state football team operate well and achieve success.

"An open dialogue between KDA FC management, fans and stakeholders also needs to be held to find the best solution to restore the situation.

"We are confident that with the intervention and support of the Menteri Besar of Kedah, this problem can be resolved quickly and effectively," he said in a statement here today.

Muhammad Najib said his party was worried about the crisis which he said had an impact on the team's performance and fan support as well as the development of the state's football.

He added that KDA FC is a symbol of the glory of Kedah football and has an important role in fostering sportsmanship, especially among the youth.

"The issues faced now have caused dissatisfaction among fans and stakeholders, we believe that the intervention of the state authorities, especially the Menteri Besar of Kedah is very necessary to solve this problem immediately," he said.

Meanwhile, Kedah Umno Youth information chief Mohd Safwan Jaafar described the situation in KDA FC as causing the players to become stressed and boycotting the team's training session.

"The situation is becoming more critical when many players want to leave the team due to too much stress and this will definitely affect the performance of KDA FC.

"So we are calling for the responsible party to come out with a brilliant idea to be able to help this critical KDA FC team," he said.
