KUALA LUMPUR: Track cyclist Shah Firdaus Sahrom has qualified for the men's keirin semi-finals at the Paris Olympics.
Shah placed third in his quarterfinal heat behind Great Britain's Jack Carlin and Austrlian Matthew Glaetzer while Japan's Ota Kaiya claimed the fourth spot.
Only the top-four advanced.
The Muar-born was the fourth rider behind the derny and positioned himself well throughout the race.
The semi-finals will be held at 6.30pm. Only the top-three in each semi-final heat will advance to the final which will be held at 7.20pm.
