KUALA LUMPUR: Lee Zii Jia smashed his way into the Australian Open final on Saturday.
Despite a jittery start, the 26-year-old world No.8 raised his game to oust Taiwan's Lee Chia Hao 10-21, 21-15, 21-10 in the semi-finals at the States Sports Centre in Sydney.
This is Zii Jia's third World Tour final in as many weeks this season.
After winning the Thailand Open last month, Zii Jia also reached the Malaysia Masters final a week later.
The former All England champion, who is in great shape for the Paris Olympics next month, will face the winner of the match between Japan's Kodai Naraoka and Taiwan's Lin Chun Yi in the final on Sunday.
Last year, Zii Jia crashed out in the semi-finals of the Australian Open after losing to eventual champion Weng Hong Yang of China.
