IPOH: Nga Kor Ming was re-elected as Perak DAP chairman during the 20th DAP Perak Convention held here today.
Nga, who is also the Housing and Local Government Minister, has held the position for the past 11 years.
Batu Gajah member of Parliament V. Sivakumar was retained as deputy chairman.
State Human Resources, Health, National Integration, and Indian Community Affairs Committee chairman A. Sivanesan and Tebing Tinggi assemblyman Dr Abdul Aziz Bari were also retained in their positions as vice chairmen.
Nga, who is also a DAP vice chairman, said that this was the first time all candidates won uncontested in the party's election today.
"First of all, I feel very grateful for the support from the party's members, and Perak DAP has also made history today with all candidates winning uncontested.
"This is a huge responsibility for us, and we will carry out our duties diligently. We will uphold the 3B's principles: berkhidmat (to serve), berbakti (dedication), and berjasa (to contribute)," he told reporters.
The convention was launched by DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke.
Nga also pledged, together with the Pakatan Harapan coalition under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, to rebuild the nation and ensure that Malaysia is respected globally.
"More importantly, we are committed to helping the people, and we will fulfill this trust and responsibility," he said.
The DAP state triennial party election for the 20th term was attended by 2,304 delegates.
