GUA MUSANG: Perikatan Nasional will not apologise to DAP over the 'kafir harbi' (non-believers who are against Islam) issue involving a host at its ceramah in Sungai Asap recently.
Its operations director for Nenggiri by-election Tan Sri Annuar Musa said this is because the remark was issued by an individual and did not represent the views of the Pas party.
"This is just a small matter which occured at the end of the ceramah. As the host, he issued a statement which was his personal view.
"His remarks are is still subjective and does not represent the party.
"PN did not suspend him but will 'cool' him off for a few days from the work. This is as a lesson to others," he said.
Annuar was speaking to reporters after delivering his ceramah at Jeram Tekoh here last night.
He said the move against the host was to ensure PN's machinery for Nenggiri by-election carried out their campaign ethically.
"All party machinery have been told not to enter arguments, issue statements or touch on sentiments. So far, our campaign is based on our moral standards," he added.
Yesterday, DAP leaders demanded an apology from an individual over the 'kafir harbi' word used during a PN ceramah held on Thursday night for the Nenggiri by-election.
In a joint statement, DAP central executive committee (CEC) members — Syeikh Umar Bagharin Ali, Syahredzan Johan and Young Syefura Othman — also called on PN and Pas leadership to clarify their stance on the matter.
He added they strongly condemn the statement, adding that PN and Pas must clarify their stance on the matter.
A two-minute video of the ceramah held on Thursday (Aug 8) has made the rounds on social media platforms.
