#NSTviral: Brave father and son take on masked robbers with parang [WATCH]

MUAR: A courageous father-and-son duo bravely confronted two masked men armed with parang who had broken into their home in Taman Sri Treh on Tuesday evening.

Fearing for the safety of their three-month-old infant sleeping inside, the pair decided to stop the intruders.

Both the 60-year-old father and his 34-year-old son were slashed on their arms during the altercation.

The terrifying incident was captured on the house's CCTV system.

According to the elderly victim's wife, identified only as Tay, 60, her grandson was inside with the maid, while she and her husband, along with their son, were out running errands at 6.20pm that evening.

"We rushed back after a relative informed us that two suspicious-looking men with face masks had broken into our home," she said.



"Upon confronting the intruders, we tried to prevent them from escaping, leading to a struggle. My husband and son blocked their getaway vehicle with our car but were injured in the process," she recalled, shaken by the ordeal.

The robbers fled in a Perodua Myvi, which was later found abandoned in Jasin, Melaka, the following day at 11.30am.

District deputy police chief Superintendent Muhammad Aidil Roneh Abdullah, confirmed that a manhunt was underway for the suspects.

He urged anyone with information on the suspects or their whereabouts to contact Investigating Officer Inspector Seventhi Panner at 011-1625 1909 or the police hotline at 06-9526001.
